Posted by Fort William Canadiens U18 'AA' on Dec 20 2023 at 09:10PM PST

A slow start put the Fort William Canadiens behind early and the West End Bruins eventually cruised to a 7-1 win on Wednesday evening, the Canadiens final game of 2023.

Just 43 seconds into the game, the Bruins’ Isaac Magill banked home a goal to take an early lead. Late in the first period, Carter Tenhunen made it 2-0 with a powerplay goal.

The Bruins’ Boston Bortolin and Nicholas Silvaggio would both score on two on one breaks in the second period.

Andrew Bragnalo got the Canadiens on the board early in the third period, stealing a puck and backhanding home his fourth of the season.

Just over a minute later, the Bruins’ Kehl Thompson tipped home a point shot off a faceoff win. Bortolin would score midway through the period, banking a shot in off a Canadiens defender followed by another Silvaggio goal.

Notes: The Bruins were 1-3 on the powerplay while the Canadiens did not have a powerplay opportunity; Cole Rzeszut and Aiden Gregor were out of the lineup on Wednesday evening; With only two games scheduled next week in the AA division, the Canadiens have two weeks until their next game; In the late game, the Fort William Hurricanes defeated the Volunteer Pool Bearcats 5-3.
