Halton Hills wins on late goal
The Fort William Canadiens and Halton Hills Thunder squared off on Friday morning, with the Thunder winning 3-2 with the winning goal scored with just four seconds remaining.
Luca Jedruch started the scoring, beating the Thunder goalie in the first period.
After a scoreless second period, the Thunder scored twice in an 85 seconds span to take a 2-1 lead. Jedruch responded by beating a Thunder defender one on one then firing home his 11th of the season to tie the game at 2-2 with 6:06 left.
The Thunder would score with four seconds remaining to take the 3-2 win.
Notes: The Canadiens were 0-2 on the powerplay while killing all four shorthanded opportunities; Deacon Panacheese assisted on both goals; The Canadiens were without Andrew Bragnalo; Next on tap for the Canadiens is the Greater Toronto Capitals on Saturday morning at 11:20 and then a quarterfinal matchup in the late afternoon.
