Canadiens clipped by Bruins
The Fort William Canadiens and West End Bruins met for the fourth time this season on Wednesday evening, with the Bruins clipping the Canadiens by a 3-2 score.
The Bruins scored the lone first period goal, with Carson Fiorito snapping home a shot with 1:29 remaining in the period.
Luca Jedruch netted his seventh of the season midway through the middle frame, jumping on a Joseph Joubert rebound on a three on one break to tie the game at 1-1.
Boston Bortolin scored for the Bruins at the 3:23 mark of the third period to regain the lead, with Cruz Halstead adding to the lead seven minutes later to make it 3-1.
In the final minute, Tallon Thornsteinson pushed home his second of the season for the Canadiens to close the gap to 3-2 but the Canadiens were unable to find the tying goal in the final seconds.
Notes: The Bruins were 0-1 on the powerplay while the Canadiens did not have a man advantage in the game; Both teams were playing hours prior to departing for Sudbury on Thursday morning; In the late game, the Fort William Hurricanes doubled up on the Volunteer Pool Bearcats 4-2.
