Fort William Canadiens U18 'AA'

Joseph Joubert scored the first two goals of the game and Luca Jedruch added a third period goal as the Fort William Canadiens stopped the Volunteer Pool Bearcats 3-0 on Monday evening.

After a scoreless first period, Joubert took a Neelix Otway pass and backhanded home the game’s opening goal.

Late in the second period, Joubert pounced on a rebound of a Jedruch shot and made it 2-0 with his fourth of the season.

The lone goal of the third period was scored six minutes into the frame as Jedruch converted a Joubert pass on an odd-man rush, chipping the puck past the Bearcats’ netminder.

Nicolas Pavletic picked up the shutout in net.

Notes: Both teams were 0-1 on the powerplay; In the late game, the Current River Comets jumped out to a 2-0 lead, fell behind and then battled back for a 5-4 win over the West End Bruins; The Canadiens and Bruins meet on Wednesday evening.
