Regular season concludes with 3-1 victory

Posted by Fort William Canadiens U18 'AA' on Feb 24 2019 at 04:00PM PST in 2018-2019
The Fort William Canadiens and Thunder Bay Bantam AAA Kings were the final two teams fortunate to play in the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Monday showcase game with the Canadiens winning the regular season finale 3-1.

It was the Kings who opened the scoring as Alex Remenda was the beneficiary of a side of the net scramble just 3:30 into the game.

Early in the second period, Justin Nadon found a streaking Ryan Laukka, who stopped and walked into the slot area snapping home his 11th of the year.  Five minutes later, Chase House grabbed a loose puck at the side of the net and he potted his 13th of the year and sixth powerplay marker of the year.

Late in the third period, Jack Hansen's highlight reel goal was the insurance goal, his second of the year.

Parker Ball grabbed his sixth win of the year in net.

Notes: The Canadiens were 1-1 on the powerplay and the Kings were 0-3; The Kings were without Michael Moga and Zach Prenger; Ryan Doucette played his 11th game of the year as an affiliate; In the past 17 seasons, this year's squad had the second best team's goals against average in the regular season for the Canadiens with a 2.75 mark; The Canadiens return to action on Thursday March 7th in an unconfirmed game in the HNO Tournament of Champions.  The schedule is expected to be official this week.
